The new UG 8000, while not a new concept to the Hogg and Davis product line, has been completely redesigned from the ground up.
You are viewing a picture the third prototype built for this new design. We are in the final stages of cosmetic changes with this unit after many months of testing.
This unit can also be ordered with an automatic shutdown system installed. The UG 8000 monitors ACTUAL line strain. The strain (tension) is read on the line by incorporating a Running Line tension meter. We believe that this will provide increased accuracy over other systems that convert hydraulic pressure to pounds.
This unit is currently in the research and development stage, and will be ready for market in 2009.

The unit has rated pull strength of up to 8,000 lbs. The design incorporates a John Deere 55 HP Turbo diesel power plant coupled to a hydrostatic transmission. We have also added a hydraulically driven Twin Screw Air compressor for the process of blowing the 2000 ft of 7/16” of wire rope pulling line.
